Four Bottles, One Story: Tequila Experience

For my second tequila tasting event, I wanted to go beyond the basics and create a more intentional experience. One that highlights not just flavor, but craftsmanship, tradition, and culture. The evolution of tequila across different expressions. Each selection was chosen to tell a story, from the unaged to the rich and complexity.

We began with a young Blanco, moved into the Añejos, and finished with more refined, luxurious expressions. The goal was simple: to help our guests to understand how time, wood, and technique shape what’s in the glass.

Our selection of the night

G4 Blanco Tequila

Siete Leguas Añejo Tequila

Mijenta Grand Reserva Ańejo

Patrón El Alto Tequila

G4 Blanco Tequila

We started this tasting with G4 Blanco, a tequila that truly reflects the purity of agave. Crafted using traditional methods and a blend of rainwater and spring water, this expression is vibrant and mineral-driven.

On the nose, it offers fresh agave, citrus, and subtle herbal notes. On the palate, it’s clean and crisp, with hints of black pepper. This tequila sets the tone perfectly: it’s honest, unfiltered, and a true representation of the agave itself.

Siete Leguas Añejo Tequila

A classic in the tequila world, one of the most traditional and gem of the tequila industry: Siete Leguas Añejo. This tequila develops a beautiful balance between agave and wood influence.

Aromas of toasted oak, baking spices, and dried fruit lead into a rich palate with notes of caramel, vanilla, and a touch of spice. It’s complex but not overwhelming.

Mijenta Grand Reserva Añejo

Mijenta Grand Reserva brings a more refined and luxurious profile to the table. This expression leans into richness while maintaining elegance.

Expect warm notes of vanilla, caramel, and soft oak, balanced with cooked agave sweetness. It’s smooth, approachable, and slightly indulgent. This is the perfect for those who enjoy a more rounded and polished tequila experience.

Patrón El Alto Tequila

To close the experience: Patrón El Alto. This tequila delivers a sophisticated and ultra-smooth finish. This highend expression blends multiple aged tequilas, resulting in a layered and elegant profile.

Expect notes of dried fruit, honey, light oak, and a silky texture that lingers on the palate. It feels celebratory, ike the final note of a perfectly curated evening.

This night was more than just a tasting. It was a moment to slow down, connect, and really enjoy what was in the glass.

Every pour had something behind it. Not just flavor, but time, care, and tradition. And somewhere along the way, the room changed. Conversations flowed, people connected, and the experience became something more.

Because tequila, when you take the time to appreciate it, stops being just a drink. It becomes a memory.

The kind that stays with you, not just in taste, but in the feeling of being present, surrounded by good energy and good people.

And that’s what made this night special.

If tequila tastings had a hall of fame, this one’s first-ballot—no debate. Coni from El Cozumel didn’t just pour drinks, she put on a masterclass with personality to match. Every sip came with a story, and somehow she even had the “I’m not a tequila person” crowd rethinking their stance.

The lineup was stacked—G4 Blanco, Siete Leguas Añejo, Patrón El Alto—but the MVP was easily the Mijenta Grand Reserva Añejo. Smooth, rich, and dangerously easy to love.

Top-tier tequila, top-tier service, and pours that might be just a little too generous (no complaints). If you get the chance, go—your future self will thank you…probably the next day.

A Memorable Experience at MexiCocktails – A Tequila Tasting Like No Other!

I had the pleasure of attending a tequila tasting hosted by Coni at MexiCocktails, and it was nothing short of fantastic! From start to finish, the event was a perfect blend of education, great company, and of course, incredible tequila.

Coni, the host, truly made the experience unforgettable. Her depth of knowledge about tequila, its origins, and the nuances of each variety was impressive. She shared fascinating details about the production process and the rich history behind each bottle, making it easy to appreciate every sip.

But it wasn’t just about the tequila – it was the community vibe that really set this tasting apart. Coni fostered an environment where everyone felt comfortable, and there was a genuine sense of camaraderie among the guests. It was easy to bond with fellow tequila enthusiasts, and the atmosphere was both fun and relaxed.

As for the tequila itself – wow! The selections were top-notch, showcasing a range of flavors from smooth and subtle to bold and complex. Each pour was a delight, and Coni did an excellent job of guiding us through the tasting notes and suggested pairings.

Overall, this tequila tasting at MexiCocktails was a memorable experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to deepen their appreciation for tequila while enjoying great company. Whether you’re a seasoned tequila aficionado or a curious newcomer, this event is a must!
